Supporting our people to play on the world stage

When Regi Murati was offered the opportunity to join Auckland City Football Club and play in the FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco and Barcelona, he experienced first-hand Kotahi’s commitment to supporting our people’s careers and their personal commitments.

Supported with full pay from Kotahi, Regi spent two and a half weeks in Morocco and Barcelona training and competing in the FIFA Club World Cup alongside teams such as Real Madrid, Al Ahly SC and Flamengo – a huge sporting highlight for Regi so far.

Regi said his time playing in the FIFA Club World Cup was a once in a lifetime opportunity that was made even more seamless and enjoyable through the support provided by Kotahi.

“I feel privileged to work for a company with dedicated sporting leave, and a People Leader and People team, genuinely interested in helping me succeed both inside and outside of work. The whole company was behind me and the support was especially amazing as a number of my Football Club teammates had challenging experiences with their employers,” said Regi.

Returning to New Zealand in February 2023, Regi recommenced his Optimisation Analyst role, and continues to play for Auckland City Football Club. Auckland City Football Club are winners of eight New Zealand Football Championship titles and ten OFC Champions League titles.
